About the garment
The dress has a simple, narrow shape, and is worked in thin wool, to allow it fit comfortably under jackets. If one wants a looser fit, make one size larger and work the sleeves and skirt a little shorter. However, do take measurements to work out which size best works for you. The dress is worked top down. Short rows are worked to shape the neckline. Increases are made in the round, that is to say a set number of stitches are added on specific rows. The flaring for the dress is worked with increases on both sides of the skirt. The sleeves are tapered towards the wrist.
