About sweater and pattern
Vangen sweater was what my wardrobe was missing when the colder weather arrived in autumn. A high-necked woollen sweater with an addictive cable pattern and a practical zipper. It has a cropped fit. The sweater in the pictured is made with 35 cm positive ease, but it can easily be made with less for a more fitted silhouette, but the sleeves may need to lengthened in that case.
The sweater is worked top down. The back section is worked first, and then stitches are picked up to make the front sections. Once the yoke is complete, the front sections and back sections are joined and worked in the round. Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves, which have decreases towards the ribbed cuffs. Plackets are also worked along the front edges for the zipper once the ribbed neckband is completed.
The pattern is translated by Elise Damstra.
